Pick 3 letters at a time. Start with visually distinct ones (A, M, T). Avoid B and D early.
Show the stroke guide. Trace your finger along the guide arrow first, narrating: 'A starts here, slants down here, then across here.'
Demonstrate tracing on the sandpaper. Use index and middle fingers. Trace in the correct stroke direction. Say the letter sound aloud.
Let your child trace. Same fingers, same direction. Watch they follow the guide, not their own intuition.
Test recognition. Point to T. If they get it, move on.
Move to paper. Once tracing is comfortable, give your child a writing notebook and ask them to write each capital letter.
